Google has recently announced that it has been working on a policy for over optimization. The announcement has caused much resentment in the SEO industry that is already dealing with this problem.

However, a better option would be to avoid over optimization, thus dealing with the problem in an effective manner.

1.) Keyword Stuffing

Keyword stuffing is not a good thing to do. Search engines have grown smart and Google can catch your misadventure easily. Avoid spamming the content with too much keywords.
Keywords should be used in such a manner so that they get spread out evenly throughout the text. Place the keywords in URL, header tag and occasionally once or twice in the first paragraph.

Irrelevant keywords should be avoided as these do more harm than good.

2.) Quality Content

Doing quality research is imperative before you get down drafting the content. The content should always be informative, engaging and well written. Copying is a strict no and Google will penalize you for this action.

Research well before you gets down with penning down your thoughts. This is the best way to come out with quality content. Choosing to write about in your niche area is another option that will bring quality in your content.

Checking with copy cape is a good idea as all the duplicate content will get sorted out. Quality content will not only help you achieve a higher page rank but will also ensure that you emerge as a niche writer in your chosen segment.

3.) Link Building

Avoid link exchange at all costs. Link exchange is regarded as over optimization and might lead to the content getting banned. Get over the temptation of exchanging poor quality links. Instead, divert your energy to quality links from authority websites. Ensue that you have a varied link profile as using the same keyword link might result in problems.

4.) Internal Linking

Internal linking is a great thing to do but the overuse of the same should be avoided at any cost. This will lead to over optimization and Google will impose a penalty for the same. Instead write descriptive anchor texts as this helps the search engines and users have a deep insight into the content.

5.) Build Links Slowly and Surely

Be cautious as you build new links. Overemphasis of new links on Google looks spammy and causes suspicion. Prepare a collection of high quality links and use these judiciously. Search engines will definitely appreciate this gesture and your page rank is all set to improve.

6.) Avoid Using Hidden Text

Text that is not visible to humans or hidden text should not be used. This text is hidden usually in HTML often disguised in the background. Avoid these manipulation tactics as these falls within the preview of over optimization and Google is smart enough to catch this.
Focus on quality text and use relevant keywords. Over spamming and plagiarism should be avoided at every cost. Success might come your way by using clever tactics in the short term but eventually search engines will realize this smartness and ban you from submitting further content.
